Dr. Jeff Mitchell holds a Doctorate of Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Minneapolis. He completed his undergraduate studies at Allen College of Nursing in Waterloo, IA, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree.

After completing his internship in St. Paul, MN, Dr. Mitchell established Northwest Chiropractic in New Hope, MN. Dr. Mitchell served the New Hope and surrounding area for 3 years before relocating back to Cedar Rapids, IA. In February 2007, Dr. Mitchell established Advanced Spine & Rehab Center.

Dr. Mitchell has completed over 120-post doctorate hours in advanced treatment protocols, rehabilitative procedures, human biomechanics related to post trauma, and radiology. He has been and continues to be an integral member in several civic groups and the chamber of commerce. Dr. Mitchell has been the keynote lecturer at several civic groups, exercise and rehabilitation facilities, and private/public businesses on topics such as "Proper Ergonomics in the Workplace", "Understanding Fibromyalgia", "Five Secrets to Permanent Weight Loss", and "Natural Solutions to Sleep Problems". He has been awarded the Excellence in Patient Education & Communication Award for his superior dedication to present and past outreach and concern for patients' long-term health and well-being.

Dr. Mitchell has developed a unique multi-disciplinary approach to the treatment of neuromusculoskeletal injuries by combining the use of chiropractic techniques, physical therapy rehabilitation, soft tissue mobilization, and nutrition. Dr. Mitchell strongly promotes a holistic approach to healthcare, which includes proper diet, rest and exercise programs specifically designed to meet individual needs.


In his spare time, Dr. Mitchell loves to spend time with his beautiful wife, Jen, his new baby boy, Cohen, and their wild, but loveable dog, Wilson. He also enjoys pretending that he is still young, and playing soccer as often as a he possibly can. When motivated, he also enjoys working out, running, and reading a good suspense/thriller novel.
